It is my absolute pleasure, as Principal of our school, to say…

Welcome to a New Academic Year at St. Johannes College!

A very warm welcome to the start of a brand-new academic year at St. Johannes College! As we open our doors to another year filled with discovery, personal growth, and academic excellence, I extend a special, joyful greeting to our new Primary 1 students and all the new families joining our close-knit SJC community. Whether you are taking your very first steps on campus or returning for another exciting year, we are thrilled to have you as a vital part of our school family.

This academic year marks a momentous step forward for SJC as we roll out upgraded facilities, future-ready technology, enriched literacy programs, and refreshed character development frameworks designed to nurture our students holistically:

  • The Redesigned 109 Campus: Our Primary 1 students will move into our newly designed 109 Campus. Built specifically for our youngest learners, it features Interactive Smart Boards in every classroom, a state-of-the-art STEAM x Robotics Room, and vibrant new play spaces to foster curiosity, confidence, and physical health.
  • Future-Ready Tech & Computing: Upper primary students will benefit from our new hands-on robotics partnership with the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), alongside our adoption of the internationally acclaimed Cambridge Computing Curriculum to build strong foundations in computational thinking and digital citizenship.
  • Enriched Reading Culture: To spark a lifelong love for reading, we are launching our community-powered Campus Free Library operating on a trust-based “Take a book, leave a book” honor system. This initiative complements our daily DEAR Time (Drop Everything and Read) sessions and tailored primary newspaper subscriptions.
  • Holistic Growth & Character Development: Through structured Other Learning Experiences (OLE) and our signature CLAPS Framework (Character, Leadership, Awareness, Project-Based Learning, and Serving), students will use personalized Young Leader journals to reflect, grow, and build essential life skills.

An exceptional education relies on a strong partnership between home and school. Our dedicated leadership team, subject coordinators, and class teachers are committed to walking alongside your family every step of the way. Together, let us make this school year a magnificent adventure filled with learning, joy, and shared accomplishments!

With warmest wishes,

Dr. Claudia Liu
